We took a road trip today to Pierre.....partly to do a little shopping at Menards for lumber for a "bench/shoe-boot holder/catch all" in the breezeway.....of course, a trip to Walmart ......but also to go view all the Christmas trees at the state capital building. It's really beautiful as you can see from the photos. I had gone thinking I wouldn't take many pictures but you just can't resist!!!
This one was made of LAW BOOKS!! But it was rather pretty!
I wonder if these LONG pine cones come from South Dakota trees.....they must !

And the scenery on the way is fabulous!!! You can see for miles and miles!! These pictures were taken on Hwy 83 going south toward White River.
There was no snow north of White River --- which is about 45 minutes north of us. But we still have a good amount in the fields. It's supposed to be warm for several days more so it might disappear.
